Hola de La Catedral de Barcelona!  I spent some time exploring the 15th century Barcelona Cathedral in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic quarters during my last set of travels.

The exposed stone within the Cathedral is textural, grungy, and umbellished— producing an eerie atmosphere within.  The contrast of the simple stone with ornate gothic details sets this Cathedral apart from other’s I have visited.

I was struck by the washes of yellow from interior lamps flood the walls that complimenting the sapphire sky peeking through the stained glass windows.

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16
